Police: Blood-spattered walls, dead and dying dogs at illegal dog-fight ring

Boston Police report the discovery of a basement at 29 Raven St. outfitted as a dog-fighting arena.

Police say responding officers, alerted by a plumber doing work at the address, found "a plywood-constructed dog fighting pit, several dog cages and blood on the walls and floor of the pit area," along with three dogs in cages, one dead, one seriously injured and the third in poor health.

The live dogs were removed by Boston Police and the MSPCA and are now being cared for by the Humane Society, police say, adding they expect to bring felony charges in connection with the investigation.
