Tree lightings set for next Saturday

The city of Boston and the Dorchester Holiday Celebrations Committee has announced its schedule of holiday tree lightings for Nov. 28, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

They will take place at Lower Mills at 3:10 p.m., Port Norfolk at the Redfield St.-O’Connor Park, at 3:30 p.m., Harbor Point at 4 p.m., Meetinghouse Hill at Rev. Allen Park at 4:40 p.m., the Ryan Playground at Savin Hill at 5 p.m., Blessed Mother Teresa Church at 5:30 p.m., Fields Corner at the Park Street Clock at 6 p.m., King Street Playground at Adams Street at 6:30 p.m., and Peabody Square at 7 p.m.
Mayor Menino, the committee, and special guests will be riding throughout the community on Santa’s Trolley.

Adams Village will host its tree lighting on Friday, Dec. 4. The event will also feature a visit from Macy’s Enchanted Trolley. The event begins with a pizza party at 6:30 p.m. at the Old Dorchester Post, followed by the trolley arrival and tree lighting at 7:45 p.m.
