C-11 police issue alert after attempted assault at Shawmut station

Boston Police at Dorchester's Area C-11 issued a "citizen alert" today after a reported indecent assault and battery yesterday (Feb. 3) morning near Shawmut MBTA station.

According to police, the incident took place at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday when a female victim said she was accosted by man driving a "newer model, gold vehicle" who allegedly exposed himself to the victim and called her an "expletive" before fleeing the area. A police report says that the victim struck the suspect with her cane. The suspect is described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic male, 5'10", 200 pounds, medium build. Police add: "Anyone who may have witnessed this event and has the license plate number is encouraged to contact the Police."
