Codman Square Health Center wins $7.95m in stimulus grant

Officials at Codman Square Health Center received a welcome phone call this morning from Washington D.C. The center is the recipient of a $7.95 million federal grant that will help fund a new wing of the health center, including an expanded home for the affiliated Codman Academy next door. The funding is the result of a grant proposal submitted to the Obama administration last year. Codman Square was not included in the first round of stimulus funds for so-called "shovel-ready" projects, but today's announcement signals that they have been included in the second round of expenditures.
