Traffic changes set for this week near Talbot, New England Ave.

The Boston Transportation Department says that changes to the traffic flow in the Talbot Avenue, Mallard Street and New England Avenue area— set to begin this week— are being made due to "concerns about traffic and pedestrian safety at the location."
The city agency says that:
• New England Avenue will be made a two-way between Talbot Avenue and Mallard Street.
• The direction of traffic traveling on Mallard Street will be reversed to one-way from Millet Street to New England Avenue.

The changes will be effective on Friday, May 28th. In a statement, the Boston Transportation Department said it would "monitor the effect of these adjustments on vehicle and pedestrian traffic in the immediate vicinity for a period of sixty day and will make modifications as necessary."
