Two charged with shootings and a beating

The Boston Police Department reports arresting two men on charges they shot another pair of men in Codman Square Sunday night, then beat a woman who witnessed the crime.

Police say two men were found with gunshot wounds around 8:05 p.m. at 530 Washington St. Both were taken to local hospitals and are expected to survive.

Not long after, police say, officers were summoned to a local hospital where a woman said she'd seen the shootings, then got beaten by the suspects when they saw her.

Based in part on her information, officers headed to 11 Wheatland Ave., a couple blocks away where, police say, they arrested Michael Wiggins, 18, and Lamar Brison, 20. Both were charged with assault and battery and witness intimidation. Brison also faced outstanding DYS warrants.

After obtaining a search warrant, police say, officers recovered "the clothing the witness described the suspect was wearing at the time of the assault, a described sock used to hide the firearm with a bullet hole in it and a loaded firearm in a Cheerios box."
