Man dies after stabbing in Mattapan pizza place; relative charged

A Mattapan man who allegedly stabbed his nephew inside the Mattapan House of Pizza Tuesday night will be charged with murder now that his relative has died, the Boston Police Department and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office report.

Derrick Bullock, 40, was arguing with his nephew, Curtis Cox, 43, around 9:20 p.m. in the Blue Hill Avenue pizza place when he pulled out a knife and stabbed Cox in the neck. Cox was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he later died.

Bullock was ordered held on $50,000 bail on charges of aggravated assault and battery and armed assault with intent to murder, the DA's office reports, adding he will now be arraigned on a charge of murder.
