Tree lightings begin across neighborhood on Nov. 24

The annual Holiday tree lighting trolley tour of Dorchester villages organized by the Mayor’s Office will be held on Sat., Nov. 24 beginning at 3:10 p.m. in Lower Mills at Meetinghouse Bank.

The tour will make nine additional stops at the following locations: Port Norfolk at Redfield Street (3:30 p.m.); Harbor Point (4 p.m.); Meetinghouse Hill at Rev. Allen Park (4:30 p.m.); Uphams Corner at Strand Theatre (5 p.m.); Blessed Mother Theresa Church (5:30 p.m.); Savin Hill at Ryan Playground (6 p.m.); Fields Corner at Park St. Clock (6:30 p.m.); King Street Playground at Adams Street/King Street (7 p.m.); Peabody Square at Ashmont Station North Plaza (7:30 p.m.). Guests — including Santa— will ride on a trolley donated by City View Trolley. For more information, contact Chris English in the

There will be four additional tree lighting events in the days that follow: A tree at Neponset Circle will be lit on Sat., Dec 1 at 4:30 p.m. The Macy’s Enchanted Trolley Tour will make stops on Friday, Dec. 7 in Mattapan Square (6:45 p.m.), Codman Sq. (7:15 p.m.) and Adams Corner at 7:45p.m.

The city of Boston’s official Tree Lighting on Boston Common will be held on Thurs., Nov. 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A 45-foot white spruce donated by Paul and Jan Hicks of Jordan Bay, Nova Scotia will light up in sequence shortly before 8 p.m.
