Fireworks show on the Neponset moved to Sunday, June 9

(Updated, June 6) Residents on both sides of the Neponset River will be treated to a fireworks show on Sunday, June 9 at Hutchinson Field in Milton from 5-9 p.m. The event was originally set for Friday night, but has been changed due to inclement weather.

A barge on the Neponset river will be launching the fireworks, set to music.

The fireworks will be the “grand finale” to a music festival, which will start at 6 p.m.

Organizers are using the same stage from last year’s celebration of Milton’s 350th anniversary. Musical acts expected to perform at the festival include Mixed Emotions, Pauline Wells and Didn’t Planet, among others.

Adams St. in Milton will be closed to traffic, with an exception for local residents. Parking will be available at the Pierce Middle School at 451 Central Ave., and St. Agatha’s Church at 432 Adams St. Shuttle buses will be available at both locations, starting at 5:30 p.m.

Hutchinson Field is also located near the Milton stop on the MBTA’s Mattapan trolley line.
