Two arrested for armed home invasion around corner from police station

The Boston Police Department reports arresting two local men on charges they forced people leaving a Livingstone Street apartment Thursday morning back inside at gunpoint, ordered them to lay on the floor and then ransacked the place. A third suspect remains at large.

The apartment is a quick walk from the B-3 police station.

Randy Soto, 22, and Victor Baez-Lara, 21, were arrested not long after the 10 a.m. incident at the Geneva Avenue Stop & Shop after an alert patrolman noticed a car in the parking lot that matched the description broadcast by officers on Livingstone Street, police say.

They were charged with armed home invasion, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition. Baez-Lara was also cited for possession of marijuana. The third suspect ran into the store and escaped, police say.
