Casey Overpass update set for Jan. 21 at English High

In what will kick off the construction phase of the Casey Overpass near Forest Hills, state officials will provide its first construction update in a public meeting in late January, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. The 60-year-old overpass is slated to be demolished in the new year.

The public information meeting at 6 p.m. on Jan. 21, 2015 at Boston English High School’s auditorium will introduce the MassDOT construction team, including employees of the project’s contractor Barletta Heavy Division, to the community. Information will be available about the project’s first phase, temporary roadway configurations, and traffic controls, and officials will address long-term phasing, environmental controls, and public outreach strategy.

All residents, abutters, local business owners, and interested commuters are strongly invited to attend, according to MassDOT.
