Dorchester's Judge Rosalind Miller confirmed to Superior Court

The Governor's Council on Wednesday unanimously approved Dorchester Municipal Court Judge Rosalind Miller to a spot on the Superior Court bench vacated by former Chief Justice Robert Mulligan.

Miller received plaudits from councilors during her interview last week for her work presiding over cases and examples of her sense of justice, seeking out evidence as a prosecutor that exonerated an accused rapist.

A London native, Miller grew up in rural Virginia, attended the University of Virginia School of Law and was a Suffolk County prosecutor from 1979 to 1996 when she became a judge.
