Thursday (10th) – Drop-in Youth Sports Nights start this week, 5-8p.m. at White Stadium Basketball Courts. Pick-up basketball, flag football, kickball, and hula hoops. Free barbecue, face painting for children - come play! Teens and families welcome. Every Thursday through mid-August.

Friday (11th) – The Adams Street Library will move its Friday Morning Story Time series to Hemenway Park for the summer, beginning today at 10 a.m. The hour-long program is open to all ages and includes stories, songs, games and more. Sunday (13th) – Ronan Park Clean-Up will be held from 11a.m.-1p.m. Meet with your friends and neighbors and help to beautify the neighborhood. All clean-up materials will be provided. Pot-luck refreshments to follow sponsored by the Friends of Ronan Park.

Tuesday (15th) – The Elma Lewis Playhouse in Franklin Park series begins today at 11 a.m. with a Children’s show featuring dance by OrigiNation. Later, at 5 p.m., the evening show begins with Athene Wilson, well-known jazz vocalist. The Playhouse is located next to the big ballfields between White Stadium and the Giraffe Entrance
to the Zoo. Series continues every Tuesday through August 5th. Free!

Town Field in Fields Corner hosts The Boston Parks and Recreation Department’s annual ParkARTS program, 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. sponsored by Holly and David Bruce. The arts and crafts workshop gives kids the opportunity to express their creativity while working on fun projects with local artists. Participation is free and all materials are provided, but young children must be accompanied by an adult. Groups of six or more should make prior arrangements by calling the Boston Parks Department at 617-635-4505.

Sat., July 19 – The movie Frozen will be screened in Ronan Park at 8 p.m. Bring a blanket to sit on and enjoy the kids’ favorite under the stars. Free snacks and drinks while they last. Sponsored by Friends of Ronan Park.

Tues., Aug.19 – The BCYF Sox Talk Baseball Clinics, sponsored by the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Police Athletic League, come to Garvey Park in Neponset from 10:30 a.m.- 1 p.m. The clinic is followed by an appearance by Red Sox players and coaching staff. Young people will have the chance to work on their baseball skills before the players arrive. Youth groups and camps are welcome to participate.
