Thursday (20th) – Kick off the holiday season at the seventh annual Lower Mills Holiday Stroll from 5:30-8 p.m. Shop, stroll and dine at over 40 local shops, restaurants, and small businesses in the Dorchester Lower Mills, Milton Village and Central Avenue area, with a free trolley shuttle running along Dorchester Avenue and Adams Street. The event will begin with a tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. at Meetinghouse Bank. Organized by the Lower Mills Civic Association and the Lower Mills Merchant’s Association.

• The next monthly meeting of the Boston State Hospital Citizens Advisory Committee will be held at the Foley Building, 249 River St., Mattapan, MA from 6-8p.m. Members of the public are invited to attend.

• Fundraiser for Dorchester’s Ann Murphy, who is battling Multiple Myeloma, 6-9 p.m. at Freeport Tavern, 780 Morrissey Blvd. $20 tickets at the door.

Saturday (22nd)

Thursday (27th)
– Franklin Park Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving Day. Run or walk off calories with your relatives, friends, and neighbors before you sit down to dinner! Chip-timed this year with fun prizes for winners and best costume. Adults $25 / $30 day of race. Kids $10. Bib pick-up starts at 8am, Star-Spangled Banner and race at 9am. *‘Funny’ Forum in last three performances
Riverside Theatre Works in Hyde Park presents the final three performances of the musical comedy “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” this weekend. Forum is an uproarious musical about love, class, and mistaken identity in Ancient Rome. It’s a feast of slapstick and showgirls, featuring the songs of Stephen Sondheim.
