Thursday (27th) – Franklin Park Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving Day. Run or walk off calories with your relatives, friends, and neighbors before you sit down to dinner! Chip-timed this year with fun prizes for winners and best costume. Adults $25 / $30 day of race. Kids $10. Bib pick-up starts at 8am, Star-Spangled Banner and race at 9am. Proceeds benefit Franklin Park Coalition youth crew, Playhouse in the Park concerts, and woodlands restoration. Meet at Franklin Park Golf Clubhouse, Franklin Park Rd., Dorchester. Friday (28th)
– JFK Library’s Celebrate series welcomes families for a 10:30 a..m. performance by the popular folk duo Magpie. The one-hour “Season of Light” show includes songs from various cultural traditions. It’s appropriate for family audiences and children ages 5 and up. Free, but reservations are required for all visitors. Call 617-514-1644 or register online at jfklibrary.org.

Saturday (29th)
– Mayor Walsh and the Dorchester Holiday Celebrations Committee will light the neighborhood’s holiday trees in a City View trolley-stop tour of ten villages today. The tour starts at 3:30 p.m. at Port Norfolk at Redfield Street.

Thursday (4th)
– Kit Clark 1st Annual Wreath Stroll from 2-5p.m. at Kit Clark’s 1500 Dorchester Avenue location. Celebrate the holidays with pastries as you stroll through Kit Clark and view wreaths decorated by elected officials and local sponsors. Choose your favorite, make a bid, and take it home.
