Friday (17th) – Fiddlehead Theatre Company presents opening night of Elton John & Tim Rice’s AIDA at the Strand Theatre in collaboration with Aids Action Committee. 8 p.m. Tickets: $25-$45. Tickets may be purchased by calling the box office at 617-229-6494 or online at fiddleheadtheatre.com. Student, senior and group discounts are available. Show runs through Oct. 26.

Opening night will include a chance for a free ride for new Uber customers. The promotion is good for $15 off on opening night of AIDA. Use the code “Fiddlehead” when you sign up and Uber will drive you to and from the Strand Theatre FREE (up to $15). Catch your ride from home or work, or they’ll even pick you up at the T!

Monday (20th) – A concert to contribute to the Orville Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund at Umass Boston, 6:30 p.m. An evening of jazz and contemporary music, Snowden Auditorium, Wheatley Hall.
