Sunday (7th)
– Happy Boston Charter Day everyone! On this date in 1630, the settlements of Boston, Dorchester, and Watertown were officially named. Churches in all three communities will ring their bells in unison today at 4:30 p.m. A special two-hour Founders Trail Walking Tour and ceremonial wreath-laying at the Founder’s Monument in Boston Common will mark today’s anniversary. • Second Annual Classic Car Show and Family Fun Day at Dorchester Park. The Antique and Classic Car show runs from 10-2 on the ball field at the Adams Street entrance to the park. The Family Fun Day is from 12-4 on the larger ball field in the upper park. Walk up the path from the cars to the back of the park to enjoy food trucks, entertainment, music, horse-drawn carriage rides, facilities, face painting, balloons, bubbles, puppets and games for the kids. Free. Register your classic or antique car— at no charge— on Sunday morning at Adams Street entrance.

Monday (8th) – The BRA hosts the second public hearing on a Trinity Financial plan to build a six-story residential and retail building on the site of the current Ashmont Tire property. Dubbed Ashmont TOD2, the proposed builsing would be built across from The Carruth building, which Trinity built in 2007. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Epiphany School, 154 Centre St.

Saturday (13th) – Boston Natural Areas Network’s 9th Annual Harvest Festival & Perennial Divide starts at 10 a.m. at City Natives, 30 Edgewater Dr., Mattapan. Come shop for hard to find native plants, fall gardening supplies and local honey. See bostonnatural.org.
