Meet Dot Mayor Cam Charbonnier, Little Miss Dorchester Georgia Hedderman

Hedderman, who lives in the Pope’s Hill neighborhood of Dorchester, will ride in a place of honor in the June 7 Dorchester Day Parade. The contest, open to girls ages 7-9, was held on May 9 at First Parish Dorchester. Kristina Vo was named Young Miss Dorchester in a category open to girls ages 10-12.

Cameron CharbonnierCameron CharbonnierIn other Dot Day news, Cameron Charbonnier has officially won the Mayor of Dorchester contest. Charbonnier won the contest by raising $16,000 for this year’s parade. The honorary title is awarded to whomever raises the most money. Charbonnier faced fellow local, young political activist Patrick O’Brien, also of Neponset. All proceeds go to the Dorchester Day Parade Committee, which puts on the annual Dot Day Parade. The next big event on the Dot Day calendar is the annual $10k drawing at Florian Hall on Friday, May 22. Call 617-909-6451 to buy tickets.
