Parking ban remains in effect until Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Savin Hill Bay was swept by wind-driven snow on Sunday in a scene captured by neighbor Kathy Seero.

Updated, Tues., Feb. 17— A snow emergency and parking ban will remain in effect through Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. as the city works to recover from the latest round of winter weather.

Red Line service on Tuesday was running between JFK-UMass station and Alewife. Shuttle buses replaced train service elsewhere on the Red Line— with more than 50 replacement buses running along Dorchester Ave. during the morning commute.

The parking ban, which prohibits parking on major arteries, including Dorchester Avenue and Blue Hill Avenue, will allow Public Works crews to continue full-scale snow removal operations along key routes of travel overnight.

According to Mayor Walsh's office, the city's Public Works Department (PWD) removed 1,200 truck loads of
snow from across Boston's neighborhoods overnight on Monday into Tuesday.
