Professional Women’s network launches on April 28

A new organization that intends to to develop, promote, and protect the interests of professional women in Dorchester will host its first meeting this month.

The All Dorchester Women’s Professional Network will gather at ester in Lower Mills on Tuesday, April 28 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Ester Restaurant and Bar is located at 2261 Dorchester Ave. The inaugural meeting will feature guest speaker Carol Conway Bulman, President and CEO of Jack Conway Realtors.

The network has been organized by two key people: Mary Kelly is a Real Estate Salesperson with Jack Conway Realtors, who serves as president; and Vice President and co-founder Maria Pina, the retailer manager for Meetinghouse Bank, whose president, Anthony Paciulli, has encouraged the effort.

“Maria and I agreed that the idea of forming a new organization, devoted to promoting the interests of professional women in the Dorchester community was great,” explained Kelly.

There is a $50 annual dues to join the group. All events and meetings are free to members. The network plans to achieve their goals by providing connections, business opportunities, education and inspiration for professional women. They also plan to establish communication between local professional women, political leaders and government agencies.

“We are a new organization, so some of the dues will go toward building our foundation as a Network,” explained Kelly. “We hope to have a web page up and running this year, and an original logo. Moving forward, dues will go toward events and other items based on member feedback.”

In the future, the Women’s Professional Network would like to host a variety of events including B2B Networking, educational workshops, supporting community charities, and, Kelly adds, “having fun!”
Light refreshments will be served at the April 28 event. For additional information and to RSVP please contact Mary Kelly at 617-697-2019 or marykelly@jackconway.com.
