Ashmont mix-used development secures funding for construction

The Ashmont TOD2 development team has announced they have closed on the financing to construct the six-story mixed use project.

In an email Thursday, Mathieu Zahler, senior project manager for Trinity Financial said the funding was solidified on Jan. 29. The transit-oriented project will rise from Dorchester Avenue on the current site of Ashmont Tire, across the street from the Trinity-developed Carruth building.

“The contractor has been working hard to secure City permits and began to mobilize earlier this week,” Zahler said.

To keep the community apprised of the project’s progress, a community meeting is planned at All Saints Church on March 31 at 6:30 p.m. On the agenda: the project schedule, points of contact for construction-related questions, and the local hiring plan.
