Old Edward Everett Square to get peared up in makeover

A redesign of the roadways in Edward Everett Square will be "peared" with a public arts project to beautify and celebrate the historic site.

A 10.5-feet tall pear, cast in bronze, will be the centerpiece of a new public art display to be installed after the city of Boston completes work on a redesign of the Edward Everett Square scheduled to begin later this month.
