At 75, St. Greg's pastor keeps faith, mission alive

 St. Gregory's parish will host a reception Friday night for its Gregorian Guild, a parish-wide effort to help support the parish elementary school. The event at parish hall marks the 25th anniversary of the guild, founded by pastor Msgr. Paul Ryan shortly after he was assigned to the Lower Mills church in 1980.

Street robberies alarm neighbors
A pair of apparently unconnected but equally vicious street robberies rattled neighbors in two different sections of the neighborhood this week. The attacks have called attention to a sharp rise in street robberies this year.

Following Deval Patrick's commanding victory in Dorchester and across the state in the Democratic Primary on September 19, seasoned neighborhood pundits are re-aligning before general election on November 7.

 Recount drama plays on in Second Suffolk race
Drama continued this week in the race for State Senator in the Second Suffolk District as incumbent State Sen. Dianne Wilkerson and Democratic challenger Sonia Chang-Diaz called for partial recounts of the results from the September 19 Democratic primary.

After more than $20 million in renovations the John P. Holland school has been transformed from a drab eyesore into a state of the art facility, and educators at the school couldn't be more excited.

 

Investigators seek public's help in identifying
murder victim found in Winter St. chimney

Suffolk County investigators and Boston Police called for the public's help today in identifying a woman whose remains were found sealed in a Meetinghouse Hill chimney last year.
