DCR Park Serve Day – TENEAN BEACH

Saturday, April 28, 2018

Tenean Beach was virtually washed over this year by two “once in one hundred years” storms, which left a tremendous amount of debris throughout the beach, parking lot and lawn. DCR sponsors Park Serve Day, and the Neponset River Watershed Association has organized a cleanup of much of the Neponset River Reservation. Through friends in the Neponset Greenway Council, Maria Lyons suggested to the Friends of the Boston Harborwalk, that they direct some of their volunteers to Tenean Beach.

They are coming, and additional help will be appreciated. This is an example of how involvement with regional groups can gather support for our public spaces, which benefits everyone. It would be wonderful if we could have a strong turnout from the Port to assist in the effort.
