Speaker Series: Remembering Black April
For many in the Vietnamese American community, "Black April," or the Fall of Saigon, holds a significant reminder of the trauma and sacrifices that many in our community endured. This year, we honor our heritage and history of Vietnamese people in the United States, by sharing stories of not just the Dorchester community, but across the country.

Leading the discussion will be former Garden Grove Mayor Bao Nguyen; born in a refugee camp, he would later go on to become the city's first Vietnamese American Mayor. His personal journey as a refugee and civic leader is a relatable and important story to share. Join us for an evening with hopeful discussion about what Black April signifies 40+ years later and how young leaders in the diaspora are paving the way forward.
