Marr-lin swimmers leaves Arlington and Chelsea clubs in the wake

Marr-lin Swim Team Hosts Arlington & Chelsea Clubs

The Marr-lin Swim Team hosted the Arlington and Chelsea Clubs for a rare tri-meet in the N.E.N.E.A.P.C. league. Thanks to some great races, the Marr-lins edged out their competition to capture the meet. Throughout the meet there were many strong performances from swimmers in each age group. Some of the highlights include the following swimmers in the 8 & under age group: Jason Casey (25 yd. Freestyle 17.31), Amanda Arcieri (25 yd. Freestyle 21.50), Nia Cahill (25 yd. Freestyle 31.29) and Anna Cahill (25 Backstroke 33.00). Top times for the 10 & under age group include: Jesus Rodriguez (100 yd. I.M. 1:40.84), Julieanne Stones (100 yd. Intramural Flag Football Super Bowls

The 4-team Junior division of Intramural Flag Football completed it’s play-off tournament by crowning the Eagles 2011 champions. After two exciting semi-final round games, this set-up a battle between the Cowboys and Eagles for the Super Bowl. Both teams played great, as they took turns holding the lead before the Eagles pulled out a 66-54 victory. Tyhre Leggett (3 TD’s), Luis Rodrigues (2 TD’s), Bryan DeLacruz (2 TD’s), Jamil Boykin (1 TD), Carlos Robalo (1 TD) and Lanis Rowell (1 TD) led the Eagles while De’Andre Dew-Hollis (5 TD’s), Kevin Zarnoch (1 TD), and Tyler Wright (1 TD) led the Cowboys. The 4-team Senior division has also competed the 2011 season, awarding the Bears the Super Bowl title. In the Super Bowl game the Bears opened up an early lead and held off a late rally by the Eagles to capture a 74-46 victory. The Bears were led by Terrell Davis (2 TD’s), Saide Smith (2 TD’s), Le-Zhan DosSantos (2 TD’s), Raul Cardoso (1 TD), Danny Lopes (1 TD) and Alberto Monteiro (1 TD) while the Eagles were led by Robert Lawless (3 TD’s), Danny Alves (2 TD’s), D’Mitra Weathers (1 TD) and Bernard Barbosa (1 TD).
