Holiday parties and drop-in activities

Holiday Parties - This past week the Social Recreation and Teen programs collaborated to host parties for members of all ages for the holidays. Our thanks to the following organizations/individuals: Toys for Tots, the Marr Companies, Toy State Corporation, Dignity U Wear, our friends from the Santa’s Night Out event, the Under the Tree Foundation, Club Board Members, several Anonymous Friends and countless individuals.

The Social Recreation program offers drop-in activities, tournaments, field trips, small group clubs, and holiday events for members ages 5 to 12 and is based out of the Marr Clubhouse Gamesroom. For information please contact Zack Solomon (zsolomon@bgcdorchester.org).

Denney Center News - Our Denney Center Unit, which is located in the Harbor Point community, has two upcoming special events in January. To honor Dr. Martin Luther King, the Club will partner with U-Mass Boston to host a Day of Service event on 1/21.

Members, parents, community members and students will come together to create Healing Cards for the residents of Newtown, CT. In addition, on 1/25, we will host our Annual Winter Open House.

There will be games, family friendly activities, food, tours and more for Harbor Point residents. Memberships on this night are free for residents. For information please contact Queenette Santos (qsantos@bgcdorchester.org).

Jazz Dance Class - The Club will be teaming with students from the Boston University Occupational Therapy Graduate program to offer 2 Jazz Dance Classes.

This inclusive program will offer two classes on Thursdays: Ages 5-7 at 4 p.m. and a second class for 8-10 yr. olds at 5 p.m. beginning on Feb. 7 and running through April 18.
