Marr-lin Swim Team News

The newest members of the Marr-lin Swim Team have begun team practices, with returning team members ready to join with them, in preparation for the fast approaching dual-meet season. The 100+ members of the team will be practicing four days a week perfecting their strokes and lowering their times as they prepare for the traditional Blue/White practice meet on 10/26. This inter-squad meet will help get the team ready for their season opening dual-meet against the Waltham Boys and Girls Club on 11/3. Prior to their first meet, team members will hit the water on 10/27 to take part in the Annual Swim-a-thon fundraiser. Each member of the team will swim as many laps as they can within a one-hour time limit. Prior to swimming, members of the team will be seeking pledges from family and friends based on the number of laps they expect to swim. Members of the team will spend the day at the pool counting laps for one another in between their own designated swim time. Funds raised from the event help pay expenses incurred by the team throughout the course of the season. This may include participation in special invitational meets, the regional championships and possibly, the national championships.
