Boys 15&U All-Star Basketball Team Wins Championship - Congratulations to the Boys 15&U All-Star team which captured the N.E.N.E.A.P.C. Basketball Championship with a 75-63 victory over the West End House Boys and Girls Club at Gordon College this past weekend. Club members Morris Barnes, Antonio Fernandes, Randy Butler, Saide Smith, Jamal Diaz, Freddie DePina, Sean Hargrove, Malik Monteiro, Carleskie May, Le-Zhan DosSantos and Eric Correia helped lead the team to victory. Current Spring programs include the 10-team Intermediate/Senior Basketball League, 4-team Co-ed Indoor Soccer League, Walking Club, Wiffleball League and more. Marr-lin Swim Team at National Championship Meet - In early April, 7 members represented their fellow swimmers at the Boys and Girls Clubs National Championship Meet in St. Petersburg, FL. Each swimmer posted a new best time during the meet: Anthony Alves (100 yd. Freestyle 1:00.31), Clare McCarthy (50 yd. Backstroke 37.69), Maeve McCarthy (50 yd. Freestyle 32.75), Olivia McGrath (100 yd. Butterfly 1:12.66), Sarah O’Donovan (50 yd. Freestyle 35.07), Desmond O’Halloran (100 yd. Breaststroke 1:21.80) and Joseph Woods (100 yd. Freestyle 57.83). Education Program News - The Education program will be offering two special events for teens in the coming weeks. On 4/30 we will take a trip to the B.C.E.C. College Fair, the largest Fair in New England. Then on 5/4 we will host a group attending the College Works Retreat in New Hampshire. During the day members will be inspired to seek higher education.
