Intramural Basketball Program Begins

Intramural Basketball Program Begins - The 14-team Winter Intramural Basketball program kicked off this past week with seven games played over three days. On Thursday the first of three Boys Low Rim games saw the Pistons defeat the Bulls 19-14. Eoin Gormley (15) and Nathan Rodrigues (7) led the Pistons and Bulls respectively. In the second game the Hawks, behind Nasir Monteiro (9) defeated the Celtics 28-20. Omari Graves (11) led the Celtics. In the last game the Lakers defeated the Knicks 18-17. Chris Davis (7) led the Lakers while DeAndre Baptista (12) led the Knicks. On Friday afternoon the first of two games in the Girls Low Rim League saw the Rockets defeat the Clippers 16-9. Jessica Pontes (8) led the Rockets while the Clippers were led by Rodnisha Granger (6). In the second game it was Leilani Correia (4) leading the Warriors over the Mavericks, who were led by Jessica Batista (3). On Saturday morning we hosted two games in the 14&U Co-ed division. In the opener the Sixers defeated the Pacers 50-34. The Sixers were led by Malik Monteiro (16) while the Pacers were led by Raul Cardoso (10). In the second game Morris Barnes (24) helped lead the Nuggets over the Cavs 55-42. - Teen members are invited to take part in our new Film & Video program. Our new studio space, which is located in the McLaughlin Center, was created with a grant from the Taco Bell Foundation.
