Intramural Floor Hockey Begins

Intramural Floor Hockey Begins - The 18-team Intramural Floor Hockey program kicked off regular season play this past week with 9 games played over three days. The Boys 15&U division opened up play on Thursday evening with the Canadiens besting the Flyers in the opener 3-2. De’Andre Gomes Baptista (1 goal), Bryan DeLaCruz (1 goal) and Karim Harris (1 goal) led the Canadiens while Jared McLeod (1 goal) and Luis Rodriguez (1 goal) led the Flyers. In the second game it was M. Beazley (4 goals), Jonathan Cooper (1 goal), Sean Kelly (1 goal) and Freddie DePina (1 goal) leading the Islanders to a 7-6 win over the Capitals. The Capitals were led by De’Andre Dew-Hollis (3 goals), Joey Norman (2 goals) and Sebastian Ruiz (1 goal). On Friday evening it was the 10&U Girls opener with the Oilers defeating the Black Hawks 6-5. Zaylana Gibau-Abrahim (5 goals) and Kelly Le (1 goal) led the Oilers while Madeline Murphy (3 goals), Liliana Ruiz (1 goal) and Jamyra Barros (1 goal) led the Black Hawks. In the late game it was the North Stars defeating the Bruins 8-2. Kate McGrath (4 goals) and Daejhele Rousseau (4 goals) led the North Stars while the Bruins were led by Aja Credle (1 goal) and Thaliyah Diaz (1 goal). Community Care Day - On 10/16 volunteers from the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies will be on hand to assist in a special project to benefit the Club. In addition to a generous donation towards supplies, employee volunteers will spend the day upgrading the safety surfaces in both of the playgrounds used by our Early Education & Care programs.
