Aquatic Program Update

Members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester joined their peers from other Clubs in the region to take part in 99 Restaurant Night at Fenway Park. Aquatic Program Update - The Aquatics program recently held registration for Fall programs which will begin this month. The Swim Lesson program offers 4 - “Learn To” classes for 3 & 4 year olds along with 8 - School-age classes for ages 5 to 18. The classes run in 7-week sessions and there is a $35 fee to register. Meanwhile, the Marr-lin Swim Team will kick-off it’s season in September by welcoming new members to the team for practices the week of 9/22. They will be joined by returning members of the team during the week of 9/29. The dual-meet season will begin at the end of October. Fall Education Programs - Our evening small group clubs in the Education program will be starting up shortly. This Fall we will offer: Quirkles Science Club on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. (grades 3 & 4); Lego Builders on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. (grades 3, 4 & 5); Reading Buddies on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m.; Engineering Everywhere on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.; and Chess Champions Fridays at 6:00 p.m. These are in addition to programs for our teen members including the Philosophy Club (Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m.) and the College Fellows Program (Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m.). New “Learn To” Class - This Fall, we will introduce a new class to our “Learn To” program series for 3 to 5 year olds titled Kindermovement. The class incorporates movement that helps build locomotive and coordination skills using different styles of dance such as ballet, jazz, hip-hop and acrobatics.
