Museum of Fine Arts Community Arts Initiative

Museum of Fine Arts Community Arts Initiative - The Club is pleased to have been named a partner in the Museum’s Community Arts Initiative. Beginning on 9/12, selected Club members will be traveling to the Museum for the first of six visits as part of this year’s community project in collaboration with 11 other youth agencies. The final piece will be completed in the Winter and the artwork will be displayed in the Museum in May with an opening for all of the members to attend. In addition to the Artist’s Project, the partnership includes Artful Adventure trips to the museum throughout the year and 10 free Family memberships. Fall Music Program
- The Music program returns this Fall for members ages 10 & up with a variety of offerings. Registration for the Music Lesson program (guitar, piano, bass, voice, drums) kicks off on 9/8 and classes will begin in October. Other programs that will be offered this Fall include Activity Nights (Mondays/Fridays), the Music Council and our Ensemble. There will also be special events such as Performance Workhops, Open Mic Nights, Instrument Clinics, and more. We will wrap up the Fall session with our “Arts Bash” event the week of 12/15 which will include member performances. For information please contact Ayeisha Mathis (amathis@bgcdorchester.org).

Education Program News
- On 9/8 Homework Help returned on a Monday to Friday schedule. The following small group programs: Quirkles, Engineering Everywhere, Junior Librarians, Reading Buddies, Teen Philosophy, Book Buzz and College Fellows will begin later in the month.
