An alleged case of Monday night road rage turned into a brief foot race when a driver reportedly pushed a police officer and took off.

Keith Jordan, 22, of 217 Columbia Rd., was arraigned this week on a litany of charges, including resisting arrest and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Jordan pled not guilty in court. His bail was set at $1,000. His next court date is Oct. 9.

An elderly female on Monday night flagged down an officer at Wheatland Avenue and Spencer Street, complaining that the driver of a grey Ford Explorer behind her was driving aggressively, according to the police report.

The driver, Jordan, said he could not find his license before exiting the car and pushing the officer. He was apprehended two blocks away at Millet Street after a brief foot chase, according to the police report.

The police officer found a silver knife in the suspect's right pocket, plastic bags containing a green or brown substance believed to be marijuana in the car and his right sock, the report says. An open container of partially consumed Grey Goose vodka was also found in the car.

The Ford Explorer was towed.

Family dispute turns dangerous

An incident at 102 Columbia Rd. allegedly involved roommates &endash; who are also nephew and uncle &endash; involved the nephew throwing a window fan at his uncle.

The nephew, Joseph Anderson, was arraigned in court this week on assault and battery with a deadly weapon. He pled not guilty.

His court-appointed attorney, Paul Barnicle, told the court the uncle has a "severe" alcohol problem and had been using the apartment in "less than reputable" ways.

Anderson, 54, was released on his personal recognizance, with the next court date set for Nov. 6. He was instructed not to contact the victim.

According to the police report, the incident occurred last week. The victim entered the District B-2 police station to file a report. The victim said he had an ongoing problem with the suspect and had taken a restraining order out against him.

The victim, 72, said that on either last Wednesday or Thursday night the suspect came by the apartment, where they started to argue, the report says. The report alleges that the suspect picked up window fan and hit the victim in the face and chest several times, which the officer noted.

Arrest for Tenean Beach incident

A man charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly exposing himself on Tenean Beach in April was arraigned this week after getting hauled in over the weekend.

Scott Barbarossa, 42, through his court-appointed attorney, Matthew Luz, said he had been at the beach after a party. His clothes had been stolen while he was swimming, Luz told the court. Barbarossa has not had trouble with alcohol in the past, Luz added.

Bail was set at $100. The next court date is Nov. 9.

On an April evening, an off-duty Boston police officer approached a State Police officer patrolling South Boston and said she was driving by Tenean Beach and observed a white male walking with his pants falling down, according to the police report.

The trooper approached the suspect, who was sitting on the ground and not wearing shirt or shoes, the report says, adding that his pants were wet and hanging below his belt line.

He did not have any identification nor did he know what happened to it, though he admitted to drinking vodka earlier in the day but did not know where, the report says.

He was arrested for disorderly conduct, released on personal recognizance and advised to report to Dorchester District Court in May.
