Boston ROCKS events at community centers

This summer, Mayor Menino encourages Boston youth to participate in Boston R.O.C.K.S!!! (Recreational Opportunities for City Kids), a series of free programs and activities organized by the City of Boston and Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF). Now in its seventh year, Boston R.O.C.K.S!!! sponsors fun, coordinated summer programming aimed at youth ages 8-18.

Boston R.O.C.K.S!!! kicks off on July 8, when the “Boston R.O.C.K.S Out!!!” daily drop-in program begins. Operating Monday to Friday from 12 to 6 pm, the drop-in centers offer free programming, including games, sports, and arts & crafts for up to 50 children a day at each location on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Additionally, family-friendly cookouts called “Boston R.O.C.K.S the Block!!!” are planned at various BCYF swimming pools. This summer, three new “R.O.C.K. ‘n Block Parties” aim to build on the success of the “R.O.C.K.S the Block!!!” events with more activities.
