Hubway passes offered for eligible riders

The city of Boston is offering $5 annual Hubway memberships to low income Boston residents who qualify for the subsidized program. To qualify you must be a resident of Boston who is at least 17 or older and meet one of the following criteria:
-Low income (based on family size)
- Receive any type of public assistance
- Live in Low income housing.

The Hubway is a bicycle-sharing option that allows you to borrow a bike from one place and return it to another. As a member, you can access a bike from any station across Boston and beyond. Hubway makes it easy to run errands, get exercise, and ride a bicycle virtually hassle free. If you are new to riding a bicycle in Boston, the New Balance Hubway is a great opportunity to try it out.
Costs: if you qualify for a subsidized membership your annual membership will only be $5 (this includes a free helmet). The first 30 minutes of use are free as well as an additional 30 minutes grace period to provide time to return the bike to the next station. This allowance applies only for subsidized memberships.
