Good Food Market at Gallivan

Every Wednesday, 4pm to 6pm, from July 13 through October 26 on the outdoor basketball court located on Standard Avenue in the Gallivan Housing Community. For $5, fill up a grocery bag with all the vegetables and fruits you want. Fresh, local produce is provided by Brookwood Farms, located in Milton, MA, in partnership with the Gallivan Task Force and the Mattapan Food and Fitness Coalition. Mattapan Farmers Market

Every Saturday, 10am to 1pm, from July 9 through October 15 in the parking lot of The Church of the Holy Spirit, located at 525 River Street near Mattapan Station. Fresh, local produce is provided by City Natives in partnership with The Trustees of the Reservation in Canton, MA. We accept EBT/SNAP/Food Stamps cards, WIC Coupons and Senior Vouchers. Ashmont/Peabody Square Farmers' Market

Every Friday, 3 to 7 p.m., from July 8 through October 14, on Ashmont Station Plaza.

Fresh, Massachusetts-grown produce, plants and flowers, baked goods, local artists right here in the neighborhood: vendors include Spring Brook Farm from Littleton, Langwater Farm from North Easton, and our own Cedar Grove Gardens, Dot2Dot Cafe, and Dorchester Arts Collaborative.

SNAP/Food Stamps, WIC, and Senior Nutrition coupons accepted; SNAP shoppers can get up to $20 worth of produce at half price through Boston Bounty Bucks.

BOSTON FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Boston Centers for Youth & Families Recreation, Sports, & Fitness Division, in partnership with BCYF Mildred Avenue Community Center and the Mattapan Patriots Pop Warner organization, are hosting the Boston Flag Football League at Almont Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Tuesday, April 19th. This league is open to boys and girls ages 10-15. This is a FREE program. Survey to guage alcohol use among pregnant women

The Dorchester Substance Abuse Coalition has begun a survey focusing on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) that impact children whose mothers consume alcohol while pregnant. The online survey takes about 5-10 minutes to complete. As an added incentive, any person who fills out the survey will have a chance to win a $100 American Express Gift Card. Compassionate Friends of Boston

The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age and to provide information to help others be supportive.
Our newest chapter is in Boston. It meets at the Reggie Lewis Center, 1350 Tremont St., Boston, MA., every first Tuesday of the month. The meeting is from 6pm-7:30pm. Refreshments are provided.
