Renovated Strand ramps

up to present bigger shows, films

The Boston Lyric Opera's production of "The Magic Flute" will be staged at the Strand Theatre next month. City officials hope that after a $6 million renovation project- now almost complete- more shows like this one and April's "Ain't Misbehavin" styarring Ruben Studdard will find the Uphams Corner venue a stop worth making.
