![]() Thursday, March 15, 2007 UMass honors Pope's Hill civic leader, bank president Pope's
Hill Neighborhood Association president Phil Carver was
honored with the 2007 Robert H. Quinn Award on Tuesday
during the annual UMass-Boston Community Breakfast. Carver
was feted for his volunteer work in Pope's Hill and for
organizing support drives for US troops in Iraq. Past
Dorchester award winners have included Codman Square's
Bill Loesch, Columbia Point's Fr. George Carrigg and
Reporter publisher Ed Forry. Also honored at the breakfast
was Mt. Washington Bank president Edward Merritt, whose
philanthropy to the Dorchester and South Boston community
was honored by the university. Pictured above at the
