FIRE SCORCHES MARSHLANDS ALONG NEPONSET RIVER, BIKE PATH

About 75
Boston firefighters battled a stubborn and blustery brush
fire for several hours on Tuesday afternoon in the Neponset
River reservation near Granite Avenue in Cedar Grove. The
fast-moving, three-alarm blaze - first reported around 12:35
p.m. - scorched about 50 acres of the marsh between the
Neponset Greenway bike trail and the river, according to
Boston fire officials. Pockets of the fire also burned along
the MBTA right-of-way near the Butler Street station,
forcing the closure of the Mattapan high-speed trolley line
for a period of about two hours, but service was restored in
time for the late afternoon commute. The cause of the fire
has not yet been characterized by fire officials. Photo

They are facing huge fines from the FCC

saying that their role as the "fabric of the Black
