Sign-ups for ADSL baseball, softball leagues

The All Dorchester Sports League (A.D.S.L.) will be hosting registration for the 2012 Spring/Summer Girls Softball programs beginning on Monday, February 13th from 4 to 7 p.m. Registration will continue on the following dates: 2/14, 2/20, 2/21, 2/27, 3/5 and 3/6. Dorchester Youth Soccer plans Spring house league

Dorchester Youth Soccer will be offering a Spring house league for boys and girls in Kindergarten through Grade 2. We will play on Sunday mornings at Pope John Paul Park beginning in late April running through mid June. There will be no scheduled games on Memorial Day Weekend. There will be two age groups offered. The first group will be the U-6 Clinic program and the other group will be U-8 for first and second graders. If you have a child born between 9/1/03 and 12/31/07 they are eligible to participate this spring.  Read more

Public skate hours begin at Devine Rink

The Devine Skating Rink in Neponset — which is owned and managed by the state’s Department of Conservation and Recreation— began regular public skating hours last Friday. Open skate times include: Tuesday & Thursday 1:30 -2:30 p.m., Friday 7 -8:50 p.m., Saturday 7 -8:50 p.m. and Sunday 2- 3:50 p.m. Call the rink at 617-436-4356 for more information.

Parent-Child Playgroup and storytime

Free play time for parents and toddlers with a short story and song session at 11:30. Every Friday from 11-12:30 p.m. at The Fields Corner Branch Library. We will have live music with Su Eaton on October 28th. This is a collaboration between Countdown to Kindergarten Play to Learn playgroups and The Fields Corner Branch Library.

Street hockey tourney starts April 20

A youth street hockey tournament starts Tuesday, April 19 at five parks around the city, including Dorchester’s Garvey Park. BOSTON FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE

Boston Centers for Youth & Families Recreation, Sports, & Fitness Division, in partnership with BCYF Mildred Avenue Community Center and the Mattapan Patriots Pop Warner organization, are hosting the Boston Flag Football League at Almont Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Tuesday, April 19th. This league is open to boys and girls ages 10-15. This is a FREE program. Boston Neighborhood Basketball League Coaches Training

Boston Centers for Youth & Families' Boston Neighborhood Basketball League (BNBL), a summer basketball league for city of Boston youth ages 11-18, is looking for volunteer basketball coaches for all boys and girls age divisions: 13 & under, 15 & under, and 18 & under. All candidates must be 18 years of age or older and must pass a CORI/SORI background check. No prior coaching experience is required.
