The election is three days away. Mayor Thomas Menino will be at a "Parent University" and a Halloween party at the Strand Theatre in Dorchester. City Councillor At-Large Michael Flaherty will host a "tele-town hall," with fellow City Councillor At-Large Sam Yoon moderating.

MAYOR THOMAS MENINO:

9:00 AM Kick Off BPS Parent University
UMass Boston, Campus Center Ballroom

Mayor Thomas M. Menino will kick off Parent University, which is designed to help parents increase their understanding of how children learn and develop. Funded in part by stimulus dollars, the program was developed by the BPS Office of Family and Student Engagement and features a variety of courses in English and Spanish. When parents complete classes they earn Parent University Points and “graduate” in June by earning 10 points.

1:00 PM Boo Bash Halloween
Strand Theatre, 543 Columbia Road, Dorchester

Mayor Thomas M. Menino will meet and greet residents at the Strand Theatre for a free Halloween party. The Bash will include a haunted house, magic shows, a movie, arts, crafts, face painting, karaoke, a costume parade, and trick-or-treating. More than 400 children and families attended the Boo Bash last year.
