Mayor Menino addresses regional officials today about working to end child hunger. Sam Yoom is talkin' substance abuse at City Hall, and Michael Flaherty is pressing the flesh (political lingo for handshaking, fyi) in Mattapan.

MAYOR THOMAS MENINO:

11:15 AM Regional Meeting on Child Nutrition

Mayor Menino and Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Kathleen Merrigan will speak to over 100 mayors and officials from throughout the Northeast about the need to work harder to end child hunger.

4:00 PM Safe Summer, Safe Streets Walk and Talk
Public Safety Meeting with Faith Leaders and Street Worker Roll Call

Mayor Menino will meet with faith leaders to provide an update of the City’s public safety initiatives and latest crime trends. Following the meeting, Mayor Menino will join the City’s street workers for a roll call and neighborhood walk through Academy and Bromley-Heath developments.

COUNCILOR MICHAEL FLAHERTY:

7-8:30am: Visibility
2-4pm: Business Walk Mattapan
4:30-6:30pm: Door Knocking Mattapan

KEVIN McCREA:

McCrea is out of the country for personal reasons.

COUNCILOR SAM YOON:

10:00 a.m. – Meeting with Mission Safe
Sam will meet with members of Mission Safe, a Charlestown-based organization committed to reducing substance abuse.
