Wilkerson to plead guilty

Former state Sen. Dianne WilkersonFormer state Sen. Dianne WilkersonState Sen. Dianne Wilkerson is expected to plead guilty in federal court tomorrow, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court on Wednesday.

The June 3 hearing is set for 2 p.m. at the Moakley Courthouse.

The documents did not document which charges she would plead guilty to. Her defense attorney, Max Stern, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The U.S. Attorney's office, which is prosecuting the case, declined to comment.

The Roxbury Democrat, had represented the Second Suffolk District from 1993 to 2008, when she was beaten in a Democratic primary by Sonia Chang-Diaz, who went on to win the seat.

Wilkerson was arrested nearly a week before the November 2008 election on federal corruption charges, which she had previously pleaded not guilty to.
