29 days to Nov. 5. Eight days until the first televised debate between the two finalists. A Herald/Suffolk University poll out this morning has City Councillor At-Large John Connolly up with a 7 point lead. Connolly received 41 percent, while state Rep. Marty Walsh had 34 percent. The poll of 600 likely voters closed in the field last night, per Suffolk pollster David Paleologos. The margin of error is 4 percent.

6:30 p.m. Public Safety & Gun Violence Meeting (Kroc Center, 650 Dudley St.)

7:30 p.m. Rep. Walsh will visit businesses in the North End
