THE ROXBURY COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD(CRAB)has membership openings and is seeking individuals who live or work in Roxbury, Dorchester or Mattapan and are interested in helping to end health disparities and
expand participation in medical research.
THE ROXBURY CRAB is composed of residents who are working to improve community understanding of and responsiveness to community based and clinical research in the Community and work to advise researchers. Tutor For Project D.E.E.P. This Year!

Project D.E.E.P. (Dorchester Educational Enrichment Program) is seeking a few good tutors from the local community.
The commitment is one ninety (90) minute time period per week to work with one child. This period can be anytime from 3:00 - 8:00pm on any day Monday through Thursday.

If you cannot attend, or if you decide to enroll after our event, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can do our best to enroll your child in our programs. ‘Improvement Team’ headed to streets of Mattapan on Aug. 29

Weeds growing out of the cracks in the sidewalk? Parking or street signs too faded? Pothole repair needed? Put it all on the list to send to City Hall.
City officials say they’ll be hitting Mattapan with a “Street Improvement Team†on Aug. 29, aiming to clean up local streets block-by-block. A clean-up of the Morton and Norfolk area of Dorchester is planned for Nov. 14. Follow-ups will be planned a week later. Read more
DA: Innocent man murdered in gang feud

A Mattapan man with no gang connections died in May because some of his gang-member neighbors killed a member of a rival gang two years earlier, a Suffolk County prosecutor said today. Read more

Councillor At-Large Yoon supports moving the school committee, whose members are appointed by the mayor, to a hybrid model where some are elected and some are appointed.
We incorrectly reported that he supported moving entirely back to an elected school committee.

Second man charged for Mattapan murder

Abiona Justice Sharpe, 20, of Revere, was arrested in New Jersey this week on charges he helped murder a man standing on the sidewalk at 23 Wilcock St. on May 13, according to Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office. Read more
Flames cook charged with stabbing another cook
By
Boston Police say a cook at Flames, 663 Morton St. in Mattapan, ended an argument in the kitchen Saturday afternoon by plunging a knife into another cook's stomach.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover. Wellesley Clarke, 55, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
