Roxbury-based educator, artist and activist, Eric 'POPS' Esteves¹ first photographic exhibit, Hideous Beauty, showcases the hidden beauty of Roxbury and beyond. Striking portraits, everyday life and emotions are captured candidly. Our attention is directed immediately to the noble dignity of everyday struggle, what we have in common and the range of emotions and masks we all wear as we strive to survive.
Mr Esteves, an administrator at Lesley University, is very active in Boston civic life and helping to build thriving, empowered communities. He is a Roxbury resident and a graduate of Northeastern University. Mr. Esteves' work has appeared in the Bay State Banner, Boston Globe, Dorchester Reporter, South End News, Onyx Informer, and on ESPN.com.

The café serves affordable, natural, agriculturally sustainable, healthy, delicious meals in an era when fast food predominates. In addition to its non-profit café and catering business, Haley House runs a soup kitchen in the South End, maintains over 100 units of low-income housing, operates an organic farm, and much more.
