Please join the Neponset Veterans League and the Dorchester Vietnam Veterans Memorial Committee in honoring all Veterans and Dorchester residents who served their country and made the Ultimate Sacrifice since World War I.

This year, for the first time in history, The Neponset Veterans League in partnership with the Dorchester Vietnam Veterans Memorial and The BCYF; Leahy-Holloran Community Center, we will honor our fallen heroes with a “Flag Garden” to be erected and located at the Dorchester Vietnam Memorial.

Local Veterans, Dorchester residents, school children and the general public will plant the “Memorial Flag Garden”. Each Flag will represent a Dorchester resident who died while in service to this grateful nation since WWI. The Flag Planting will take place Wednesday May 21st, 2014 at 3:30pm. The Flags will stay in place set up as a Tribute to our Fallen Heroes. The names of the 78 Fallen Heroes that the Dorchester Vietnam Veterans Memorial honors will be read on Memorial Day at the annual remembrance following the annual observance at Cedar Grove Cemetery. The Flag Garden will remain in place until Dusk on Memorial Day, May 26th.
