Neponset River Clean-Up in Hyde Park

Sat, 09/06/2014 - 8:00am

The Neponset River Watershed Association is sponsoring their third annual Neponset River cleanup and is looking for volunteers willing to give a few hours of their time to help the environment. This event will happen on Saturday, September 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Martini Shell parking lot on 1015 Truman Parkway in Hyde Park.

The clean-up will serve to bring together community members from across the 14 towns of the Neponset River Watershed area in an effort to increase awareness of the river and promote its use as a resource for everyone.

Volunteers are asked to meet at 8 a.m. where they will be assigned to a clean-up site. They are also asked to bring water, sunscreen, hats, work gloves, appropriate footwear (no flip-flops or sandals) and clothes that can get dirty. Snacks will be provided.

Pre-registration is helpful, but not necessary. Ages for those wanting to volunteer cannot be under the age of 15.

To sign up please contact Kristina LaFrance at lafrance@neponset.org or call 781-575-0354. An online registration form is also available on www.neponset.org/cleanup
