Two men were ordered held in lieu of $500,000 bail at their arraignment Wednesday after police say they found nine weapons, 1,000 rounds of ammunition and 250 grams of cocaine in individually wrapped packages in a raid at their 12 Rill St. home, according to Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.
Estuardo Castillo-Guzman, 43, was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of ammunition and trafficking cocaine. Amilcar Castillo, 45, was charged with trafficking cocaine, following the raid around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The DA's office reports Amilcar Castillo had a valid license for the AK-47, shotgun and seven other guns, which were found in his bedroom, but said he was also charged with three counts of improper gun storage and one count of possessing a firearm in the commission of a felony. In a statement, DA Dan Conley said:
"One of these defendants had nine loaded firearms in his room, including a loaded handgun under his pillow and an unsecured AK-47 next to his bed. The other had more than 250 grams of cocaine. This is what we're referring to when we talk about the nexus of guns and drugs in Boston. The amount of firepower and narcotics in this residence is extremely disturbing, and Boston Police did an outstanding job taking them both out of circulation."
